Olds 442 W25 hood pin

The mounting bracket on the passenger side for the Hood twist pin...does not seem to allow the hood pin to go through and lock. I lost a chrome twist pin the other day because ti was not secured...somehow came off while driving home. Got replacement pin and retainer from Fusik...got it in...reinstalled retainer pin, but left mounting bracket...works fine on drivers side, but will not push down far enough or something to secure in mounting bracket...of course really hard to see...as the hood is basically closed by the time it gets that far. any thoughts? had worked before?

Compare the spot where the retaining pin is attached to the main pin with the other side. I have several hood pins in my pile of stuff, and at least two have had a lower hole drilled in them for the retaining pin. Different hood lock manufacturers could make them differently, that's the only explanation I can come up with. I don't believe Fusick has them made by the original supplier anymore.
