Cutlass Roof Rack?

So while at the Autorama, I got this crazy idea to put a surfboard on the top of my cutlass after seeing them on some other hot rods.

Does anyone know of any more period correct roof racks for a 67 cutlass or GM a body coupe?

I don't know what you're talking about

Seriously, the "period correct" ones I've seen have been custom built. Maybe try to get ahold of Sick Fabrication (you're in MI, right?).

Looking for something a little less bulky lol. But how solid does that feel on the drip rails?

Probably pretty solid. Saw one of these at Goodguys Columbus last year and could not believe it. Originally produced by a company called Harmon Shadow.

Maybe you can use one of these for drag week next year Flemming.

🤣🤣🤣🤣
it's solid on the rails. The safari basket is aluminum, and the rails (aluminum)/stands (steel) are Amazon specials. I had a steel framed 10x10 canopy, the drag radials, 2 folding camp chairs, and a 6x2 folding table up there. The rear rail was pretty close to the roof, so I wrapped a terry cloth towel around it to keep from scratching the paint. It worked well. I didn't do a trailer because of manual trans, steering, and brakes. It's hard enough to park on its own.

Actually do you have a link to the roof rack mounts?

Here ya go Coastie: HTTMT- MT371-033- All-In-One...
Amazon Amazon
The safari basket had a channel for uni-strut nuts, so that's how i bolted it together. The towers are tension fit on the rails.

Thanks, Peter! I'm trying again this year.
Funny thing: you can tell by the squat whether the air bags were intact or not. The tailpipe was too close to the spring and kept burning a hole in the driver side.
