Florida Body Shop Recommendations?

I'm brand new. Pulled my dad's 70 S out of the garage earlier this year. He bought it new. Completely over-hauled suspension, brakes, fuel system, axles, tires, carb, transmission, and lots of other mechanical bits.

Now its running like a scalded dog after a decade or two of sitting in the garage.

The last thing on the list to make it a reliable driver again is to get the rear window fixed. Its rusted out and leaking, which is pretty common.

I have a new vinyl top to replace the current original one, I'm sure it will need some metal work and there are kits out there for this kind of thing. I'm pretty sure we will need to peel off the existing vinyl, remove the window, fix the sheet metal, shoot the roof with paint, then reinstall the vinyl, window, and trim. I don't think the damage is into the fenders so I am hopeful that there will be no paint matching necessary.

I need to find a shop that will tackle this kind of thing and I can't find anything. I get told over and over that they only do collision, they refer me to other shops and we go around in circles. No one wants to tackle this stuff, and it has to be a pretty common problem on the A body cars.

If you know a shop somewhere in Florida, I'll load it up on the trailer and take it over. The sooner I get this fixed the sooner he can start driving it again.

You're looking at a full repaint, to fix those rails.

Michaels in Winter Haven painted this, but that was around 20 years ago. I believe he is still there.

Best option is diy.likely less time and frustration, even if you have to learn the skills and acquire the tools.

A full repaint may be required for great results but surely a competent shop could com close w a color match.

you will need to define your expectations at the start of the project.

I would DIY the bodywork if I had the time, but with starting a new job and all that entails that means the car will just sit.
