I cannot for the life of me figure out if my VIN has an M or a W ... if the font were like this I only see two peaks to the top of string...but if the font had the "low" middle peak for a W..that would have two peaks as well.
I am trying to figure out if Willow Run plant made Oldsmobiles. The reason for the question is that my "New" 1966 Cutlass Convert 4-4-2 has a VIN Number on the titles, that I have copies of dating back to 1982, with a W as the manufacture plant.
Some sites do not list the W as an available plant for my car, hence the Willow Run question...where other sites do not.
Some sites, when I enter then VIN w/ the W say no such item...where others have no trouble giving me the different model to select from. HELP M or W ?
Production of automobiles began at Willow Run in 1959 with the Chevrolet Corvair; Willow Run also built the Chevrolet Nova (1962-1979), the X-bodies (1980-1985), the GM H body, and the Chevrolet Caprice. Corvairs were assembled at Willow Run during the car's entire 10-year production run.
My cowl Tag clearly states LAN... but wasn't sure about final assembly. As I said the Titles i have in hand date back to 1982 or so and ALL (3 of them) show the W as manufacture plant. I took a dremel wire brush to it and then eased it w/ a pencil and VIOLA it is an M...after 40 yrs the title will be right!
Thank you all for the quick replies and the help.
