I have a 71 CS convertible my vanity mirror is glued onto the visor. I am not certain if mine is OEM installation. I suppose I could look in either the Fisher or Oldsmobile Assembly manual. I might venture to look later this evening. Cool stuff you found.
I had 63 that had that mirror but it had clips on it to hold it to the visor. So is the one on my 55 only a different style for the era. I'm not sure if that mirror that you have is for that era car. Anyone know if it was offered at that time or are they aftermarket..... Cool piece anyway.....Tedd

If it has two clips on the back then it clips to the passenger side visor (one can only assume). I actually like the notion is has clips rather than glued on.

The factory installation has two "sockets" in the visor and the mirror glass is glued to a thin sheet metal plate that has two pegs that plug into those sockets. If I remember correctly, you can feel the sockets if you push on the opposite side of the visor.

Thanks for that information. Mine is securely fastened and does not appear to require any changes in adherence. It will remain that way for as long as possible.
