65 Thousand Dollar Olds?

Saw this on FB and really thought he meant 65 hundred. I messaged him and asked about the price and he said that 65,000 was the price posted. Here is the description he posted...

Barn find!! Have done nothing but look, open doors and see if fan belt turns ( it does ). Body is in great shape. Original paint. One owner. Tires are flat. You will need to tow this out of course. Keys, and title, bill of sale. Trunk has the winter rears in them. Those are in good shape. Inside needs a good cleaning. 117,000 ish miles. This car has sat for a long time. V8 425 overhead valve. Shoot an offer..... He also said he wasn't looking to get rich off of the car...

For a dollar and a dream that seller has a better chance at the lottery... Although, they do say there is a butt for every seat...

However annoying it is, it's not illegal to troll for idiots. Plenty of idiots get reeled-in, year after year.

It looks like a $6,500 starting price 1966 Dynamic 88 convertible. There hard to find, (:•》, well maybe not, I've got one in a building for 17 years. It's on my bucket list, #6 on the list, or maybe 5.

It will sit in the garage until the owner dies and then it will be crushed.

$65,000 and he is not trying to get rich off the car. Granted $65,000 is not going to make him rich but he is trying.

Offer $5000. If he acts smart, send comparable listings!

Without seeing its a 2500 dollar car at most and I nicely told him this. Its a Ct. car and rear bumper appears to be rotted thru. If this has happened I can only assume frame and floors have rot, maybe not. The interior is totally moldy. And being original the vinyl is probably crispy and cracking. The un-reproduced gas tank is probably shot. Who knows about mechanicals, brake system, suspension. Probably needs a new top. So in other words total restoration on a car when finished could bring 12,000? Unfortunately it just isn't worth it... IMO.

Indeed. It takes just as much to restore a Cutlass as a 442, might as well restore a 442.

Most were 2bbl in the 88's, all are 425 except Jetstar.

Might it have a manual transmission? Those are quite rare in B bodies, aren't they?
