Bumper jack date code question...
Greetings all ye Oldsmobilers! I know that bumper jacks are date coded, so my question were they installed by date code each year, or is it possible that one with a date code from an earlier year could have been installed in a later year? In other words, could a jack with a date code of 1970 been installed in 1972 car?
I ask because I recently got a jack with a date code of June 1970, and I have a 72 Cutlass Supreme. So would I be good with that, or should I try again for one with a 1972 date code?
Or, should I just call it a day and not worry about it?
Thanks,
Dave

Just from my own experience in dealing with 4 different cars (1968 4-4-2 with a production date of 4A & its jack dated 8D, 1969 4-4-2 with a production date of 5C and its jack dated 9D, 1970 GTO with a production date of 10E and its jack dated 9K,and a 1971 Corvette with a production date of E14 (12/14/70) and its jack was dated 0M), the original jacks were all dated either the same month of the date of production of the car, or on one car a month earlier.
