Trunk Release Switch Wire Routing?

I'm installing an electric trunk release on a '70 Cutlass. I can't find any diagrams showing how the wiring is routed from the switch to the trunk. Do you bundled it with the main harness or simply run it down on the right side under the carpet? The trunk release solenoid lead comes out on the right side of the trunk lid.

after you fish it through the decklid it runs under the carpet on the right side. The way it was done at the factory is a little more of a challenge when the car is already together.

To make it an easier install I would bring the wire up through the kick panel and over to the switch.

On mine, it is run under the carpet on the right side, up through the right trunk hinge and then through the trunk lid to meet with the plug from the trunk opener. To pass the wire through the trunk I used a coat hanger I bent to get it through the channel. I do not know of any detailed official write up for this installation.

BTW you have the wrong trunk button for 1970, it should have a chrome base with a black button.

I appreciate the feedback. Sounds like down the kick panel, bury it under the carpet and up the right side of the trunk lid. Thanks guys.
