Trunk lock 1970 coupe 442

Got a aftermarket trunk lid and the trunk lock hole not lining up correctly for the lock cylinder to set at the proper angle. Stamp hole looks to be different from original. Anybody else face this problem ??? Need a cure here to get lock installed. Are there different style lock cylinders that are used on the 1970 442 coupe ?? Thanks. Greg

The way the hole is stamped in the lid the arm that goes from the lock to the trunk latch is at almost a 90 degree angle. Broke lock assembly trying to get it to work. Too much of a bind. Hole in trunk lid looks like it should be more of a angle towards the latch than what it is. Lid came from the Parts Place

Don't know what to tell you but did you try calling the Parts Place to see if they can give you any advice on installing the lock? If not can you see if they will take it back and try looking at another vendor such as Autobody Specialties http://www.autobodyspecialt.com/cgi-...ion&key=OC-703 or Desert Valley Auto parts http://www.dvap.com/part/1970-oldsmo...trunk-lid-930/

Wish you the best in getting it straighten out.
