dual gate shifter

Can anyone help with the year of the dual gate shifter. Going to look at it tonight. The seller said all of the spots are water. Can't tell if if it has any major pitting until I look at it. Any help would be appreciated

Judging from the wood grain I'd say 71 or 72.
If there is a neutral safety switch on the rear bracket it would be a 70, but I doubt that.

Good eyes. To clarify, this shifter fits all 1970-72 consoles. The woodgrain applique is different from year-to-year, and the 1970 versions incorporated the NSS; later years simply used the column-mounted NSS operated through the backdrive linkage.

As long as the lighting is correct in this pic, that is a 71 wood grain.
How much is he asking?

it's a 71 or 72. No NSS on it. Gave $100.00 it has the rear bracket, Think it will be a nice driver quality shifter. Everything seems to work. Will probably need a top plate once I get it cleaned up. not sure if I want to dip in a rust removal or media blast the shifter has a bunch of surface rust, hopefully not a lot of pitting. Needs a ****

Check H&H Classics. They sell the best quality wood grain, with metal back like the original for the top plate and console. Much nicer then the sticker on The Parts Place top plate. http://www.hhclassicauto.com/products.html

Looking at cable options on e-bay and OPGI. The one from OPGI said 30 1/2" long prior to adding to cart. Once added to cart it changed to 29 3/4" long. Looks like INLINE Tube has the same cable 29 3/4" long for less. Everything on e-bay has the same GM part # 406266. Any suggestions? As alway Thanks in advance.

I bought mine from Inline Tube. I didn't measure it but it fit and works correctly.

Does the dual gate have a gear indicator slider like the regular automatic shifter to let yo know what gear it is in? Or does it just line up with the letters on the left? Still taking shifter apart and had this question. Thanks

Neither the dual gate nor the same year factory shifter have a slider to indicate gear. The gear indicator lens is just illuminated with a single bulb.
