350 Rebuild for 400 HP

For better or worse, this video series shows a 350 being built for 400 HP and summarily flogged on the dyno. Olds newbies will find this interesting, but our experts here could have built this motor well over that 400 mark. The other muscle car engine builds from this fella are also entertaining. Check it out.

AND his stock versus aftermarket intake manifold theory will probably make you want to punch your screen and set your couch on fire in protest.

Yeah. He had to really try to get even close. With that many spacers and probably a huge carb. Try it as it would actually be on the car and the numbers would be much lower. Nice build and pretty basic.

400 goal

Roller rockers and a well selected cam would have taken him to 400 hp I think. Either way a decent build for what it is. Should wake up that Rallye.

I really enjoyed this series of videos. Not so much the build (I think they should have gone with a little wilder cam and did they enlarge the valves?) but I just like this guy. You can tell he enjoys this as much as we do. Kind of makes me want to pull my engine again.
Oh no! Where's....where's my MAW helmet?!

Yup, it got me. I've committed to buying another small block but this time with flat tops pistons, big valves, yadda yadda. It's not just MAW though, my rings are on their way out.

307, what motor does your Challenger have? I just bought a '14 Ram 1500 with the 460 Hemi. Man, that thing is a beast!

Our Challenger only has the 3.5, still moves nicely, especially on the highway. I am really wanting a new AWD Challenger GT. Again only the 305 HP 3.6 but we drive the Challenger all year long, sure would be nice on icy winter days.

Honest question, are you saying that we should not do what he's showing us in the video? Serious question, I can't tell really what you mean from your statement.
