1969 W-31 broadcast card found!!!
1969 W-31 broadcast card found!!!
I figured this would be it's own seperate thread as opposed to adding it to my restoration thread (I will link to this thread though).
After 20 years of ownership it's still amazing what **** I find in this car. With the body and chassis still at the restoration shop I've been focusing on other items - interior pieces to be dyed, small chrome items to be sent out and looking over interior items in order to make my order with Legendary. I dug a bucket seat out to document with pics and look it over before it gets redone. As I'm looking over the driver bucket I happen to see paper or something stuffed in the lower portion of the back part of the seat. I immediately think, NO, it can't be. Look closer. Are you f'ing kidding me!?!?!?!? JACKPOT!!!! Another broadcast card!!! I had no idea it was even there. Thankfully the mice didn't destroy this one as the car was stored in a barn for six years prior to me buying it. I'm stunned the mice didn't destroy this actually. Simply amazing!!!
This one is easily more legible than the one I found 20 years ago. The first one I found was under the carpet on the passenger front floor. It was found by accident as the car was stored outside at my dad's for a few months after I purchased. I came home one weekend and there was a puddle of water in the car. Out comes the buckets and carpet to dry out. There was the card, soaking wet, sitting right there on the floor under the carpet.
For those unfamiliar with fisher body broadcast cards and 69 w machines, there is nothing on the card to denote a w machine. Starting in 70, there would be.
Another interesting tidbit. I was comparing this card to the first card I found at least the parts I can read. The fonts between the two cards are different. This is really noticeable on the 3's. Weird.

Not sure how Sam's post got deleted, but he's correct. No W29 on my broadcast card. And the several 69 cards I've seen didn't have W29 on them. Mine only has A51 for buckets (iirc), since the brackets needs to be on the floor of the body shell. Other than that just like any other 69, 70, 71 broadcast card
That must be another difference between 68 and 69. I always thought the two years were basically the same with paperwork. Every 68 Lansing Broadcast card I've seen has W29 on it.
could be, but remember, mine my isn't a 442. So it makes sense 69 Cutlass broadcast cards wouldn't say W29 on them. I never did find the card on my 69 Lansing 442 though
