What Engine in this Barn Find?

Friend of mine called a couple days ago asking if I would be interested in a '70 Cutlass that had been in storage since the 90's. Of course I said I'd like to see it...

Took a look at it tonight and shook on a deal with the owner. Now I need to sell a couple of my projects to raise the cash to complete the deal, but that's not the question here. I'll keep the bittersweet '71 but the beige '72 is for sale now.

Real solid car - no rust that I could see although it had some minor/typical rust repair done in the late '80s when it was painted. Paint is still in fantastic condition underneath the years of settled dust. Original/correct fenders, and so on. You'll have to wait for photos, I don't want to jinx things before I get the car home...but here's the cowl tag at least.

The one totally wrong and not original element is the engine. Although the deal comes with a '68ish 350 with #5 heads and needing a rebuild, the engine in the car is supposedly Olds but displacement in the 268 range. Valve covers and heads seem to be the same blue as 455s, and the heads are #10. No photos of the engine, sorry. Any thoughts on what it might be?

There's a 455 sitting in my shop that needs to go in that car anyhow!

#10 heads are 260 heads. 99.9% chance that is what you have.

Thanks, that sounds about right from what he was saying. Definitely not the original engine for this car and it's not staying in there any longer than necessary now.
