AC POA valve

I'm starting to work on the AC system of my 70 442. It has been open for a long time so pretty much everything will need to be rebuilt/replaced. It appears that the original style POA valves are no longer available. Classic Air advertises that they can cut them open and rebuild them but my local AC guy with over 30 years experience is skeptical. Does anyone have any experienced with the results of this process?

Thanks

Classic Auto Air in Tampa can rebuild and re calibrate your POA for 134a, if you are using that.

I had a thread going about this earlier this summer if you care to do a search. Classic Air is the way to go. I converted my system over to R-134 and needed a new POA. The one that they sent out works perfectly.

"Banny" on this site says he can rebuild and calibrate them, too, and has them in stock.

I did this myself for a friend's 70 Impala. Cut it apart, recalibrated it for 134. Works well. I did wind up building a compressed air "tester" for the unit, to check to see if it worked correctly, and didn't leak. Took all of an hour or 2.
