It should be flagged as prohibited... Borderline, if not totally illegal...

Before the add gets removed I thought it might be a good idea to preserve the VIN for future possible victims. Hopefully if they Google the VIN this page will pop up and it will be known that the vehicle is a fraud.

Selling the title and VIN tag as a "collectible" is not illegal. The person who rivets to another car is the one committing the crime. Linden car anyway, so it can never be a "W-30". Price seems a touch, ah, optimistic...

"If your looking to clone your cutlass into a 442 this is what you need to make the value of the car worth more . If you have a 68 442 without a title this would help you get your car registered ."

He's not selling it as a "collectible." He's selling it as a tool for fraud.

Selling a computer with an internet connection is also a tool for fraud.

I'm not denying that the seller is scum, just pointing out that while slimy, what he is doing is not illegal. The buyer of the items would be the one who would have legal problems if caught.

That may be true, and I'm not a lawyer, so I cannot assert it any further, but I know that there are many crimes in which the mens rea, or criminal intent is the deciding factor, such as trespassing or possessing burglar tools, and somewhere in the recesses of my mind, this seems like one of them.

Either way, we all agree that he is scum, which is the important thing.

The seller becomes complicit if the buyer does indeed buy the title and tags and affixes them on a lesser value vehicle in order to enhance the value of the lesser car.
