The first time I showed up at my wife's house to meet her parents I showed up on a 1971 Triumph Bonneville, Just after I arrived her dad came home from work , he walked by me didn't say hi how are you, didn't ask my name , he looked at me then pointed a finger at the Triumph and said "if I ever see my daughter on the back of that motorcycle I'll kill you " I said yes sir, then he said "hello my name is Wally how are ya"
Notice I said it was the first time I met him, but It wasn't our first date, what he didn't know was she had been on it several times, we honored his wishes and she never did get on it again, I got along fabulously with my father -in-law not so much with my Mother-in-law (another story for another time) my father -in- law is gone now and I do now get along with the M-I-L,(giving her Grandchildren had a magical effect) Here's a pic of the wife from a picnic we took the Triumph to (I know because of the ba-bush-ka head gear she had on ) and here is the Triumph at the picnic.
Foot Note, I wonder if he knew something ? my wife's youngest brother and his girlfriend died in a motorcycle accident some years later.

Solly - Cool bike, even better story, minus the sad ending!
