Wiper arms

Hello everybody, I am Chris from Germany and we have a '72 442 cutlass. We have a problem with the wiper arms and do not know how to disassemble
them.

Hey Guys, can anybody tell me how to renew the complete wiper arms ? Do I have to unscrew the arm ? Does anybody took a picture how it look like if it's unscrewed ?
Thx in advance

Chris

Are you trying to remove the arm from the trunnion on the cowl? The wiper arms are just held on the trunnions with a spring clip. You can pry them off with a large screwdriver (use padding) or get the special tool.

Look at the arm near the wiper arm pivot. There is a small hole. Pull the wiper blade away from the glass, push a nail, pick, tiny screwdriver whatever thru the hole. Let go of the wiper blade, the arm should stay raised away from the glass. Once that’s done, wiggle the arm while pulling the pivot away from the wiper arm mounting stud.

Well crap, I just looked for a you tube video, turns out the method I described is wrong. Try this instead.

I’m a believer in the motto “a picture is worth a 1000 words”.

I figure a video has to be worth a least double that!!!
