Factory-installed options would normally be listed on the window sticker (there's always a chance a mistake would be made, but highly unlikely). The build sheet, if you have one, should also show any and all RPO options.
Keep in mind, dealer installed options (and some specialty cars) should be listed on an "add-on" or "second" window sticker that is not part of the one the factory supplies. Although that didn't always happen if the purchaser said for example "put Cragar mags on it and paint the hood stripes and you have a deal." Those "options" may not be included on anything other than the paperwork.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking about having a reproduction window sticker made for my '72 U code Supreme, and wanna make sure I give them the right info. It's a highly optioned car, so would the codes on the build sheet that don't have an asterisk be the only ones on the window sticker?
Perhaps. I am not 100% positive but I think the asterisks were for "required" options, such as if you bought a 69 442, the W29 RPO would be required, although it was included in the model. It did list it on the build sheet, though.
Not everything on the build sheet got a place on the window sticker. If you're having a place like window-sticker.com remake one for you, simply send a copy of the build sheet to them. I think they require some sort of paperwork to work off of anyway.
It is strange that 1972 window stickers don't even show the RPO codes for the options. Just lists the descriptor and the prices.
Hey Dave. I don't know what the authentic window sticker looked like for the 1972 model year, but there were some slight/modest changes to the windows stickers over the years. I'll just toss you up a couple links I found hoping they'll help you. It looks like ultra-high-compression link has some tasty looking windows stickers - they even have a list of the 1972 options - scroll down the page and click on 1972 options. You probably found the first link (below) on your own where several members found some around the 1972 model year.
Hey Norm thanks for the info. 50 bones sure beats 75 for getting one on eBay. I emailed the guy with all my info. Will update when I hear back from him.
