Matt, I don't recall deleting an ad for a 442 Hurst shifter. Perhaps one of the moderators deleted it because you forgot to include a price in the ad. Please make sure you include a price. Example:

NOS 442 Hurst shifter, still in package. $500 obo

Again.... my ad was deleted with no explanation

I followed all of the forum guidelines about posting ads and yet it was deleted. I never received a message as to why. My other request was deleted as well. Can someone please be a stand up person and let me know why? Don't just hide behind a screen and a keyboard.

Don't know the answer to your question as I did not see your add. It might have been a simple mistake. Please post your add again and I will look at it and I will post reply to your add. As a moderator I have no way of knowing who or why it was eliminated. You could PM Oldsguy as he is the administrator for the site and might have your answer.

I've never even heard of any posts being deleted here unless they were the X rated stuff we used to get??
This is a corporate site so don't go looking for any owner that sits and hides behind his screen and keyboard.

I recall the insignificant dust up over your post of your '66 3X2 manifold, which was for sale on ebay. I was glad you brought the sale to our attention, specifically my attention. I didn't win it, but it was nice to have had the chance. You seem to have parts available of direct relevance to the taste of the board, so who knows what the rub is or could be.

Should it prove your post of moderated parts sales reports have basis, I hope no case of selective moderation becomes evident. Keep the auctions of interesting parts coming - CW

It was a 70-72 Hurst console shifter assembly. The shifter was on ebay with no reserve. I see many ads listed here with ebay links and no prices and they never get deleted. I also see people post links to e-bay and craigslist links of parts they don't even own with no price and they don't get deleted as well. I am just trying to see what made my ad so different?

Matt, I merged your threads onto the General Discussion forum since this isn't a "part for sale" thread. Please don't double post.

FWIW, I don't know why your original "part for sale" thread was deleted. I don't recall deleting it.

Talk about things disappearing, try joining that realoldspower site. I did, took like a month to be accepted, then a month or so ago my acct was deleted w/o warning as was many others it appeared . I never bothered asking why though, as the admins are either too busy or on another planet perhaps.

I have the same problem ROP. I had an account and now it seems that I don't. I have had no luck contacting the admin on that site.

I don't consider it spam and don't encourage any of those ads to be deleted.
