Wheels Mounted

Wheels Mounted
Got all the tires mounted on the rims and installed the wheels on the car. The back spacing for the rears worked out well but it will require some work on the inner lip of the wheel well to give us a little more clearance. Have not put the polished wheel inserts in yet and I am thinking that they will alter the look a bit by breaking up the grey. The stance of the car should change slightly as the engine is not yet installed.
Wheels finally installed
Will need to roll the trim back a bit to make for more clearance. The front end should come down slightly once the motor is in and the stance improve.
Getting a grip!

The fronts are the stock 15 X 7. The rear rims I had widened to 15 X 10. The rear rubber is 295/50R15's. The tires are BFG T/A blackwalls with the redline applied by a specialty vendor.

The backspacing is the key. I believe that it is around 5 or so inches. We will have to roll the inside of the fender well slightly but not to the extent that it will change the appearance from the outside. You are correct that this is probably as far a we could go tire wise without tubbing. The goal was to keep the wheels looking stock but put as much rubber down as we could within the confines of the stock wheel well. The engine when it is done should make around 600 ft / lbs of torque at the crank so the rubber will be put to good use.
