Wheel color, opinions wanted
Getting rid of the Corvette wheels on the Cutlass and short term (maybe?)
I'll be running steel wheels painted. I think white wheels on a white car looks nice.
I'll have 15x7 rear and 14x6 front. Not sure if I can run caps that match or not being the wheel centers are not the same.
Thoughts?
White?
Black?
Other?
Pictures or photoshop would be great!

my own opinion is that steel wheels enhance the budget muscle look for that post car but only detract from the appearance on a convertible. Car looks fine with the sport wheels on it now and would look even better with SSIs.
But if that's not in the cards anytime soon, and if you feel you must get the corvette wheels off, I'd go with white steel wheels.

For now it will have to be steel wheels.

I have to agree with Viking above... for some reason the steel wheel/poverty cap thing just doesn't look right on a convertible.
I'd just find some cheap used cragars or something similar that you can live with on CL or at the swapmeets coming up... and save up for what you really want.

agree, poverty caps don't look as good on convertibles. 14 x 7 SSIIs are a dime a dozen, although its still money they are cheap. At swap meets they are 15-25 each - you can find driver quality trim rings for a few bucks, a $5 can of spray and they will look great.

My 66 Chevelle vert had body colored 15x8's and 14x7 wheels in Lemonwood yellow and I liked it. (pic in my album here)
I do check CL often and stay away from swap meets because I can't leave empty handed.

Also I'm not even going to look for poverty caps as I doubt I could find or afford nice ones.
Chrome exposed lug nuts are about all the bling I am having.(for now)

i know where you could get a set of chevy rally wheels relatively soon for probably a good price. Leave off the derby caps and you'd be rockin
They've got good lookin low mile BFG radial t/as on them too, except they are most definitely old... likely late 80's/early 90's.
Eric/LostNFound66 on the local club site has em and is going with Weld's in the next month or two.

I agree!
I think they would look great on a Chevelle,Impala, etc. from the seventies. But it don't matter there sold and I don't have a Chevelle etc.
Thanks Ben, I'm not really interested in Chevy rally's but your post is a great example of car guys helping car guys.
