Another 68 Tire/wheel opinions wanted

I am wanting to change my 68 442 wheel/tire combo from the SS11 painted 14x6 to a 15x7 or 15x8, but am not able to decide what type to buy. Here are my options/choices;

1. 15x7 repro SS1 (or 15x8) (redline tire)
2. 15X8 TT11 American Racing
3. Cragar SS unsure of size because of limited backspace

I really what to hear some perspective and opinion. Thanks

I like the Torque Thrust look on 68's. These are American Racing's version (Same as the TT11's except painted):

BTW, congrats on the purchase..... It looks very clean

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. What size wheel tire are you running on your 68? I like the way your car looks and sits.

Thanks, 245 60 15's all the way around. It needs to come up a little in the back. I've got a set of air bags, just haven't installed them yet. IMO the 245's are one size too big for the front. I've got a set of Chrome 15" SSIII's that are probably going to go on later this year

Keep the SSII's but paint them silver to match factory wheels in '68. Originality helps if you ever have to sell the car.

Then get a set of TT or SS (I prefer Cragars) in 14x7 for front and 15x8 in back for when you want a more aggressive look. Lots more tire options.

If money is of no concern, I would go with the reproduction SSI wheels with the redline tires. That would look sharp and you can get them in the size of your choice.

But for me, money was a huge issue so I stuck with what I had and had them powder coated. They match the silver on the car so they look nice, but I am not sure how they would look on a red 442.

Buy the way, very nice ride. Please post a picture once you've installed the new wheels and tires.

Opinions and threads on wheels are numerous. Good luck with your quest.

Picked these up on Craigs list for $800! Coy's 17 x 8 with Goodyear F1 225/17/50. I love them. I was torn between stock or aftermarket, I put a "Right Stuff" disc brake kit that wouldn't fit my 14" anymore.

This is a video of me firing my car up for the first time but you can see the rims towards the end,

Craig

My new wheels and tires are in my signature. I went poverty this time, the tires are 245/60/15 front and 255/60/15 rear. The wheels are 7" wide both front & back.

Thanks for all the responses! So, I decided on the cragar ss and went to order them...no luck they are on backorder for four weeks, some sort of manufacturer issue.

I did decide on the tires, 245/60 on the front and 255/60 on the rear.
