What's this Carb?
I picked this Rochestor 4 jet up at an automotive flea market it caught my eye because of the giant disk on it, but I have no idea what is it for, the year, the model, the CFM or what carb kit I need. It does say GM and various other things like RP and Rochester, the number I do have yielded no matches anywhere 7011456. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it

I had a feeling it wasent because I haven't been able to decode it anywhere, and my issue is that it does not have the tag, but... Was there not years where the number was only 4 numbers, because it looks like someone tried to punch the number in the top by where the tag should be. It's a rough punch but it looks like someone did it themselves... Either they faked it or the tag was breaking down and they wanted the number known.

The large vacuum actuator on the side of the carb is a vacuum actuated speed governor for a truck or bus application, used in the early 1960s by Chevy and GMC. Note parts number 69, 70, 71 on this exploded view.

And would it have any uses on motors today? If so what kinds? And would the exploded views be this exact carb, I see that the number I did find on mine matches the same scheme as those part numbers. Thanks again

Pfffft yeah, I would buy a big orange BUS splash some Grateful Dead posters up in the windows paint some peace, love and arrows add some leaves and flowers all over that thing. Wrap a bandanna around your head and go cruisin. That would be a smokin' ride Jus' keep the windows open a crack to let a bit of the smoke out thou.
Put-er-ther.

I'd check eBay - the 4GC carburetor is early fifties technology and not the greatest (the QJ is a better carb), and you'll probably never use it or any parts from it, but the commercial vehicle guys may be looking for these, and for the five bucks you spent, you may be able to turn it over into a nice profit.

Did you see the symbol in this pic that looks like a pair of glasses or 2 P's.
