I like to fish and have a few nice old vintage rods and reels that still catch fish on occasion. I also dabble in hand tool woodworking so I have a nice collection of vintage tools that I build things with. Not much for having stuff I can't put to some use. Just the way I roll I guess.

I've got a collection of Chilton's or Motor's auto repair manuals that cover the years 1923 to 1997. I also have quite a few Truck, Auto transmission, and flat rate manuals.
If anybody needs specs, repair info, or parts info on practically anything built in the 20th century, PM me. I can probably give you an answer.

If I didn't know any better I would think I collect receipts from buying car parts, got a S load of em. Seriously I really don't collect anything but have a lot of things. Old unique hand tools, western art prints, pit passes of nascar races I've attended over the years as well as programs and other racing memorabilia.

Did collect Basketball trading cards until the end of 2013!
Then old everything to save $$ for US cars!

Had about 1500 cards only from Hakeem Olajuwon!
Had about 60 #1/1, Logomans, patches and autos!

Here is what I keep now only:

Now I focus only on my Fiero and Cutlass!

Very few civil war anything around here. especially confederate anything. There are still a few buffalo or Indian war era guns that show up from time to time but always with a inflated price. luckily I quit buying and selling and just bought and kept about 20 years ago before it went crazy....Tedd

I collect socket sets from the teens through the fifties or so and also adjustable wrenches from about the same period.. kinda cool to think about what may have been worked on by them.

Hey Tim, I too collected pinball machines. I say collected because I sold all but 1 in order to pay for my Hurst. I'm a huge early solid state fan. Some I've owned/sold included Space Invaders, Catacomb, Firepower, Centaur... As a matter of fact, I had to surrender a Black Hole pinball machine along with the cash to buy the car! What machines do you own?

When I was younger, I collected beer cans. There are over 2000 different ones in boxes in the loft above the garage. Then one day I started looking at collecting Vienna sausage cans. That's when I decided to focus on old cars. But lately those little Keurig coffee things have got me thinking. I wonder how many different ones there are.......

Several of those look like what's in my shed. The Higgins came home with us from Hershey; saw it when visiting Bawston last year so a friend brought it with him. Needs work. Amazing how many people commented on it during the drive home.

Also have a WWII Columbia Paratrooper and 'Base Bike' currently on loan to a local military vehicle museum.

Anyone else collect vintage Telephone Pole Tags?

Thanks. My Grandpa found it in a tobacco barn on his property (NC). When he grew peanuts, he would sit in a chair around dusk and shoot rats with this gun. I don't think he ever found any of the rats he shot . He actually wrote Winchester in the late 60's inquiring about ammo. They sent him one box of shells and said "we don't have anymore". Based on what I know about the stability of black powder, I am lucky this gun is still in "firing condition". The sliding "door" on the butt plate is a feeder tube for ammunition. This rifle has extra ammunition capacity because of this feature. The normal way to feed ammo into the gun is on the face (traditional location). The stock bears a rub mark from being in a rifle scabbard. Probably seen lots of the country on horseback.

I've got several hobbies, but probably the one that's next behind Oldsmobiles is collecting rocks. I've worked in forestry for about 33 years and have picked up a couple thousand pounds of rocks over the years. Flower beds, window sills, and one large rock garden are full of cool looking rocks. Here's an old photo, maybe 10 years ago I found this egg shaped rock full of quartz crystals. Here in the Rogue Valley we have volcanic rocks from the cascade range, sedimentary rocks from the Klamath formation, and metamorphic rocks from the Sierras that all meet in this part of the state.

You might notice a random green brick in there. That was from the old Lansing car assembly when they tore it down where my car was made.. Had to snag one of those up.

But I do like to collect older stereo stuff too. I have a nice older Linear drive Technics turntable, and a couple mid 70's Marantz receivers to go along with it. This is one I just got done doing some restoring of electronics on it to make it work again. Looks awesome with all new lights in it
