Does anyone have a brochure that lists the color chips for the stripe?

from the '68 brochure - - not sure if it is 1968 "photoshop" or if the orange stripe is actually on the car

Thanks for the info. I did end up finding the info in my books here. now where can i find the color chip chart like the dealers used to show you? i imagine the stripe colors would be in there..need the orange and red

A GM 68 color chip binder would be ideal

Orange stripes on Red background was probably a period color-coordination, but I was little then, so I wasn’t really there.

This could be a retroactively manipulated Photoshopped image. I believe pixel-by-pixel image manipulation (like Photoshop or Blender) didn’t really come in until the 80’s.

Just after college about 1986 or so i had a friend who was working for a then high-end scanning company who told me photos would eventually not be admissible as evidence in court. He also said Playboy magazine was one of their customers. Yet more if anyone cares: the USSR did a lot of physical photo manipulation with literal cutting & pasting going back to the 1930’s as individuals gain & lost favor with the powers of the time. People who fell out of favor were literally cut out of photos to make the evidence fit the political narrative the leaders wanted to shape. Photo image manipulation goes way back.

Computers have helped our world a lot, but in the visual realm they have made it much harder for people to tell reality from fantasy. Great in the movies, not so hot for news.

Great photo though!

Here's some pics of red & orange ones. The convert pic looks to be orange but the pics not that clear. I believe the awesome W30 hard top is 442Freds from this site. I changed mine to red back in '18 & yes I know they're not in the "correct" location but I had no choice as the old black stripes had marred the clearcoat so instead of getting rid of them I bought some red stripe tape & redid them for now.

We can help with dimensions so you don't F one up putting it on. They're a little overdone these days. Every 68 has one, just like every 70-72 has the OAI hood.

Ok now for all you smart young guys …how do you use your apps to try different body colours and stripe combos?

side view with accurate color codes …even if it’s just the background body colour with a solid stripe on top not on a car

I know it’s common for searching new car color combos…

so let’s see

Need the color chip or factory color codes. I would imagine the orange would be the camaro or corvette orange code for 68?

maybe called something different but same code
