Wax
Wax
Is there a Good wax that doesn't leave that white residue on the cheap black plastic trim all these new cars come with?
I've taped it off, stayed 1/4" away and still manage to get at least 1 or 2 small marks every time I wax the car.
If not does anyone have any tips on removing the residue successfully?
On the old Rav I just went over it with Back in Black but those were dull anyway and once you do it you have to keep doing it.
Trying to keep these new ones looking new as long as I can.
Thanks

I always used Turtle Wax Ice, no reside. It is no longer available up here, the Turtle Wax Ceramic also works but takes a lot of buffing. I actually switched to the Meguiars Ceramic on my Challenger, looks great and takes way less to buff. Zero residue with any of them, I even do the tires.

I'll check it out. Thanks
The best wax I've ever known is called harly wax and it is pure carnauba wax that doesn't leave white residue because it is what it says pure carnauba wax. I use on all my vehicles for the last 30 years

Is this the one?
I think I know why I may have stopped using Meguiars, $$😃

I’m a little late to the party, but for black plastic parts that have gone grey, or Olds rubber hoses, I use Meguire’s Natural Shine protectant wipes. I’ve tried back to black and a few others.
Settled on this: https://meguiarsdirect.com/products/...iABEgJHfPD_BwE
Truthfully, I use these wipes more on my 10 year old Audi’s than the 60 year old Oldsmobiles. But the wipes work well for spiffing up the plastics on the modern European cars. For us Oldsmo-people, the wipes are also good on rubber hoses, vacuum, fuel and other rubber lines before a show to make the rubber stuff pretty. I like the precision of the wipes better than spraying & buffing. The wipes keep overspray onto metal parts to a minimum. When I spray & wipe similar stuff, I tend to spend more time correcting overspray than I would wiping visible parts with precision.
Just my $.02,
Chris
