W30 intake freshen up and ohter questions
1.) I have a W30 intake on my 72 442 with 455(Non W30). It had a Torker on it and the Ram Air stuff would fit because the Toker was too tall. So, I thought this would look better than cast iron. Any rate, I glass beaded the manifold and it looked nice but did not clear coat it. Now it had very light surface corrosion. I do not want to take it off, so I was wondering what works best to freshen it up again. I figure maybe a brash toothbrush and maybe some carb or brake cleaner used sparingly and clean that off with a cotton rag/towel?? Anyone with good experiences and hints please!
2.) Also, the lift loop for the driver's side front of the motor. I bought another one and want to install it just for the heck of it. Can I just back out the two intake bolts up front and put it on and re-torque without causing any problems or would I be better just forgetting it since it's only a cosmetic addition.
3.) The car came to me with an aluminum bladed flex fan and once it gets it on the street, I would like to install and original fan and fan clutch on it like from the factory. Anyone know the part numbers and specifics about the original parts. I'm not concerned with date correct so if 1970 or 1971 parts will work on my 72 then that's good too. BTW, it's a 455, auto with AC if that matters.
Any help, thoughts or info will be appreciated. Trying to get this done before my expiration date runs out. I'm at least 6 to 9 months behind....LOL
Thank you, OLE442

I'd use Brakleen on the intake. Blot up excess with a clean towel. Be careful around the paint!
And, yes, a stainless brush on the oxidation.

#1A Brakcleen and other solvents will remove oil and some stains and look ok. They may affect some paints.
#1B I used "Aluminum Mag Wheel" spray cleaner on old cast aluminum parts, rinsed with water and blew dry with a blow gun. This will restore the original shiney luster. It will also rust steel parts if not dried completely.
Since you have glass bead blasted the manifold, I am not sure how much shine you will get.
