Tire Question

I just purchased a new set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's for my 72 Cutlass last month. I just happened to notice a vertical indentation on the left front running half the length of the sidewall. Does this indicate a broken belt or serious problem? Tires are well under warranty. I just got rid of my 16 year old Eagle ST's because I didn't know if they were safe, even though the tread was still good. I'd hate to think that I still had unsafe tires on my car.

I've asked the same question and was told it's a sidewall imperfection when the tire was made and is not dangerous.

If there under warranty and your not satisfied see if the retailer will replace.

My new BFGs have many of them - several per tire. I have been meaning to ask about them for a while.

I've also heard that they are sidewall imperfections and you shouldn't worry about them. Although, I had an older set of tires on my 64 98 and had a tire blowout once. It is imperative that the tires on your car are good quality. If you are concerned then seek a warranty replacement.
