Tig welder

I am considering adding a Tig welder.

I have a hobart 200 mig .

But would like to try my hand at TIG.

Is this any good https://www.eastwood.com/eastwood-el...tig-stick.html

Or am I better off getting a dedicated TIG?
Thoughts?

I have one, but never even tried to TIG with it. First, it's scratch start. Second, it has no remote controls, and no way to add any. I ended up buying a used 200a dedicated TIG rig with a foot pedal and thumb button.
The MPi does MIG very nicely, and has a spot weld timer built in. There's a saying that goes something like something that does everything cannot do it all well, or something like that.

I've had an AlphaTIG for many years now. I love it. The saying is that TIG is very similar to gas welding, and that's completely correct. I'm pretty good at gas welding and the TIG skills came along pretty easily. Like anything else, practice makes perfect. I do not claim to be an expert TIG welder by any stretch.

Get a real TIG. Foot control, AC/DC, so you can weld aluminum, High Frequency start. Your weld quality will increase tremendously, with a bunch of practice!

I was comparing between this and the PrimeWeld I ultimately went with. Both have great reviews as affordable TIG machines. I've had mine for almost 5 years now with no issues. I have periods of heavy usage followed by longer periods of no usage, which I can't imagine is good on any piece of equipment.
