Figured I'd post an update and thank the person who suggested "DETROIT STEEL" for the name of my car. I don't think it's too shabby for a rattle can paint job and at home decals.
Next up is no hood and a tall tunnel ram with a hilborn scoop, probably gonna rock the no bumper and put a literal mini keg off the grill.
If anyone is going to the Detroit Autorama, I'll be downstairs with the extreme hot rod!
I think the car in green looked great but it's your deal. As far as heaters go. I bought a DeWalt wall hanger work heater that can be hung on a wall or rolled around. It will get my garage to 60 . The only problem with the radiant heaters is everything will eventually sweat. So the oil in my olds looks like a milkshake in the spring lol . I will get 2 solid weekends of work from a typical grille tank. Go buy some lace and lay some panel paint on it.
I always get positive responses from the paint on my olds. And the whole street machine thing is coming back hard . The gasser comeback fad has been around a while now and it all comes back in waves. I did use alot of period speed parts too so when I pop the hood at the track the old dudes always get a kick out of that stuff. My wheels are even dated 1977 .
What are the rear wheel specs? I'm trying to figure backspacing for a 275/60-15 on a 15x10. Yours look to be 295-65?
29*12.5r15 tires on 15x10 rims. I believe it to be 4" back spacing, but they're also on 1" wheel spacers. I don't think I'd need the spacers to avoid rubbing, I just like the look.
Borrow a 15 X 10 wheel and tire from a friend to bolt on to check clearance. On my 70 Cutlass a 15 x 10 with 5.5" back space works fine with 325 R50-15 clears the frame.
