Spot priming fiberglass repairs

I've searched, but can't find the right search terms, or it's not in here... And Google searching takes me to boat repairs, which are more involved than I'm looking for.

I've been restoring this OAI hood since I learned how badly it was "restored" before I got it. I'm down to the last bits of fiberglass filling and shaping on the nose, but I'm to the point where I need to get an even color on the surface to see better where to sand and shape. Is there a spray primer I can use while I'm doing this work that won't create an issue when I epoxy prime the whole hood soon and paint it? It's such a small area I hate to fire up my big sprayer and mix a larger portion of primer than needed every time I want to check it out. What have you used?

I'll add some pics from my phone

Layering up

Rough shaping

Current state - filling low spots

Went ahead and shot it with a DupliColor sandable high build primer in a rattle can. Sanded most of it off and filled holes and low areas with putty

Starting to sand the filler putty

Thanks to WTHIRTY1 who sent me these pics of his no-hit hood a few months back - it’s all I have as I shape this hood into what it should be. Almost done.

Current state as of June 2nd. I need to re-fit the hockey sticks and nose piece, but other than a couple rough corners, it’s about ready to prime and paint.

Thanks, Retro I figured if there were any real issues I would have seen plenty of warnings on the interwebs about NOT using rattle cans on fiberglass repairs, etc. The whole thing is going to get a final sand and then a reprime with an epoxy primer, so all should be good. Answered my own question by just doing it, I guess. This hood will be the death of me lol.

Google guide coat that may work for what you want.
I have used the spray and powder, I like the powder better.

using that junk lacquer putty is a big mistake ,absolute junk, ,sand that **** back off of there and use body filler or 2 part hardened putty on the bare glass and block smooth, then epoxy, that putty will shrink horribly and you will see every place you used it under the finish paint and in many cases the paint will not adhere to it and the front of the car is not where you want to see bad work . I'm not kidding ,don't leave it like that ,fix it now ,just do it and you will thank me later
