"Summer Ride"

"Summer Ride"
Hey all, I threw this together and thought I'd share with the group..
"Summer Ride"
As the morning sun breaks the night sky,
I open the door and climb inside.
Turn the key and bring the 455 to life,
The crack of thunder roars from the pipes.
Settle in for a Saturday morning cruise,
With a full tank of gas, I got nothing to lose
Drop it in gear and head on my way,
On a beautiful, warm summer day.
Hit the highway, CCR belting out a tune,
Fogerty screaming “Born on the Bayou.”
Cruising along at 65,
“Thumbs up” from onlookers as they pull alongside.
Windows down, feeling the breeze,
Just me and my ‘72 Supreme.
Nowhere to be, no worries on my mind,
Enjoying the ride, for this is “my” time.
Not wanting it to be over, wishing it wouldn't end,
Not wanting to get back to life again.
But return I must, I'll have to turn around,
Soon it will be time to shut it down.
But I'm not yet ready to end my run.
My ride is not over, it's only just begun.
Open it up and let the big block breathe,
She climbs to 120 with the greatest of ease.
Feeling the rush as my heart pounds,
Loving the way those headers sound.
Lift off the pedal, back to cruising speed,
Before the blue lights flash behind me.
Take the next exit, find a back road,
Cruising easy, cruising slow.
The Holley 4 barrel is on the front two,
Saving a gallon, maybe a few.
Back to the place I need to be,
Put it in park and shut off the key.
I've enjoyed my ride, my time away.
Now I’m ready to start my day,
