Strange Air Cleaner on EBAY

Can't say I've ever seen one of these before. Did they come on olds?

Yes, this was for the Climate Control Combustion option. I think 1967 was the only year for it and they came on both 2 and 4 barrel carburators. I've seen them on the Cutlass and Toronado, I suspect they may have been used on other models too. I believe it was an effort to help warm air off the exhaust go into the carb and help the car warm up faster. But since it was a one year item I don't think it did what the engineers wanted it to. Other people will have to chime in with more details on its function. John

It was standard with the L66 2 barrel Turnpike Cruiser option.

The tubes leading to it and the shroud on the exhaust pipe must be tough to find?

Pic of it on an engine at Oldsmobility.
