Spotted in New Mexico
While driving through Espanola, NM I spotted this beauty outa the corner of my eye. I have a sweet spot for the body style and instantly recognize them, anywhere. A quick couple o' u-turns and I was able to speak with the owner. He says he has owned the car for 40 plus years. Converted it to front disc brakes last year which necessitated the upgrade to 15 inch wheels, but other than that it is all stock. It is a 1966 442 convertible with factory A/C. And it was gorgeous! On with the picture show!

He told me a few details of the history of the car. He has rebuilt the heads because at some point the engine overheated enough to warp the heads. He told me that it has a TH-400 trans, dunno if that was a factory option but I'm sure many of you do. I think at some point he has replaced at least the mufflers and maybe the entire exhaust, he kept the factory style mufflers. The interior is original and completely intact. The top has been replaced as well as the hydraulic cylinders for the top. He still has the originals at home.
I finally told him I had to go before I cashed out my 401K to buy it from him.

No mention of the TH-400 anywhere.

Dan, he might have been confused with the terminology. Super Turbine 400 transmission vs TH400. The THM400 was actually designed/built in 64 and used in Caddy's. It was available in Olds during the 66 model year and was called the Super Turbine 400 switch pitch trans.
