Sport mirror
Hey anyone had experience using any aftermarket sport door mirrors on 1970 cutlass? If the doors are the same 70 to 72 won’t a 72 sport mirror work on a 70 door? I’ve read the angle is wrong on the mirror post? Fusick only has chrome for 70 or sport ones for 71 and 72.Has anyone used the Parts Place 70 sport set?Any idea which one to go with ? Originals to pricey for this project . Thanks all

Yes, the 70-72 doors have exactly the same shape, and the 71-72 mirrors work on the 1970 doors. The original 1970 Oldsmobile mirrors are completely different from the generic GM sport mirrors. If you want the mirrors to look correct for a 70, get the correct ones. If you don't care, get the far more common 71-72 mirrors.
The mounting angle difference refers to other years and models. GM used that generic sport mirror head on pretty much every car they built in the 1970s. Those uprights vary widely due to the differences in door shape from A-body to X-body to B-body to F-body.

You can change the passenger side glass on the 71/72 mirrors with glass out of a 76 and up Camaro/firebird. It has the convex glass with the “Objects in the mirror are closer then they appear”. Although not correct for the older cars it is a pretty convenient upgrade.
