So Far So Good :-)

Hey Guys,
I,m back for a quick update on my 66 Dynamic 88 Project.

I have been out doing a lot off bits an pieces to the car,
I found a nice used Torker 455 Intake , an that was the start off it , lol
Just couldent resist starting to update the engine bay.

Like I said started with the Torker , then HAD to have a 4bl Carter
Valve Covers, New (Well second Hand ) Air Cleaner off a Corvette, to get some air in there , you all know how it goes , one thing you do makes all the rest look like crap, then you HAVE to fix the other thing , etc,etc,etc......

Anyway , Just back in the house from doing a few more bits,
New Hoses , bolting Carb Down , redoing old wireing
getting ready to bolt on A/C Brackets an Power Steering Bracket
(They need a bit off modification, before going back on )

Took the opportunity to replace , anything that looked old/unsafe,
re ran a lot off wires, new alternator here an ready to go on soon

I know the way i,m doing it may annoy the Oldsmobile Pure put it back Factory , but hey , It,s just MY Take on what I Like ?

If anyone feels like a look, get it here

Any Comments Good or Bad will be taken ,
Just wanted to see what others thought

These are the pictures off the car , I took , the night I went an collected her ,
hadent been fired in 2 years, checked the oil, stuffed 5 gallons off gas in her , jumped the battery , an she came straight to life , drove home , only like 10 miles or so
but it kinda says something about a solid old big block Olds

This is when I decided I needed to add some tunes,
no way was I cutting the dash an sticking a radio/cd in it , .
So I mocked up a console , in card board , and then made it from Scrap Panelling I had laying in the shed.
Added the gauges, an front speakers
Will add a Tach in the dash later

Looks good, nice and clean.
The console looks good, hate to see that cool dash chopped up.

I really like the "Old Man-Old Car" plate on the front. I know you could sell a bunch of those here, present company included.

Did the Brady Bunch have an Olds?
It sure looks like their fake grass backyard it was parked on.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't this pup go up in flames some time ago? If so you have managed to clean her up nicely.

No, You must be thinking off another one
I bought her about 3 months ago now ,
Just been doing bit,s an piece,s as I go along.

My Neighbor across the street (Eric) who is really in to Car,s , especially older 60,s Chrysler,s (He has like 10 or 11 , he he .
He,s been really helping me with the Car
showing me how to do this an that etc, as I have very little experience with Big American Car,s .

He is just a fantastic , Welder/Fabricator and has helped out with some very complex stuff .
We are trying to sort out a Carb Linkage at the min ,
a little more complex than usual, my car is a 66 Dynamic 88 4 Door that came with a 2 barrel , we have swapped out the Intake to a Torker 455 and an AFB 4 barrel , so as we were trying to figure a linkage we discovered tht this Car has the Switch Pitch Transmisson .
We have to figure out a Kick Down setup.

The Rest off the Car is as Solid as a Rock , with very Minor issues to sort,
It has only Had two previous owner,s and is origional as they come , well , apart from stuff I,m doing

I would like to convert it to Disc Brake,s in the long term , but that can wait.
Just want it up an running , so I can do a bit off driving , and enjoy working on her.
It,s not like she is a Daily Driver (I have other Car,s to do the Work Run stuff)
It,s got 65,000 orig Miles , so I would say there is a lot off life left in the Old Gal Yet

Very Cool! Fabbing up linkage and such is what it is all about. That's real old school rodding...If it worked, I attached my old girl that I found in someones garage just laguishing. After sitting for over 25 yrs I towed her home and got her moving in less than a weekend!
