Should I replace my fuel sending unit?

Hi guys!!
Going to repaint my fuel tank, and btw, also replacing the fuel sending unit cable that works when it wants to...

As I will drop the tank off, and also remove the fuel sending unit, do you think I should also replace it?

It still works fine, but is 45 years old, full of sludge and rotten...

Found some on eBay for 60$ shipped (to France).

Imo, would replace it as I will have the tank down...

Thanks for your advices!

If its all corroded and sludged up, I would probably change it since the tank is out. It would suck to have to drop the tank again later.

Thanks a lot for your answer Eric!

I found that the sending unit uses 3/8 hose.

Is it the internal or external diameter of the hose?

Thanks again!
