Seen these wheels before???

I've stumbled across these rims here in the UK in 5x5" PCD so should fit my Delta 88

They appear to be in the style of Magnum 500's but slightly different (the spokes are flat and chunkier). They are 15x7" and have alloy centres with chrome rims.

Made by "Appliance" and the model is "Magnum Super Sport".

Any of you guys familiar with these at all?

cheers
Dan

Those look like Dodge Charger wheels.
1968-1970ish.

similar but not quite (i think?!)

Chargers and Mopar rolled Magnum 500's.
Also very similar to Pontiac Rallye II's

Olds, Mopar and Ford all had similar wheels. Olds called them Super Stock 1 or SS1 wheels. I think the Magnums were on the Fords but I can't remember

Great, thanks for that!

They look to be the same overall styling but different build... must be aftermarket copies.

Those wheels are pretty cool. If they are priced right I would jump on them like a redneck on a bag of pork rinds.

I've been searching for ages for a set of wheels in 5x5", they're somewhat of a rarity this side of the pond. I was about to give up and get some shipped from the States, but then i stumbled upon these.

I bought them for 150 English Pounds, which works out at just over 200 dollars!!

This will probably seem a bit steep to you guys but American stuff is so much more expensive over here. If i'd got some sent from the US, I would have paid not far off that for shipping alone!!

Overall a good deal i think!

Hey, I happen to LIKE pork rinds (or meat skins as we call them here) Especially bobbycue flavored... and "cracklin's" in cornbread is a fine Southern treat! Cornbread is only properly made in a cast iron skillet or muffin pan.

I'd love to find a set of wheels like that myself. 5x5 custom wheel options are a bit limited even in the States. Those look a little like the ones on the Delta Custom Holiday Sedan pictured in the 1967 sales literature (that to my knowledge never got put on a car). Someone took good care of those.

Those are *not* like SSIs. As Dan said in his first post, the spokes are "flat and chunky", meaning wider than SSIs, *and* the Chevy, and the Ford and the Mopar Magnum 500s.
Nice looking wheels. Would look nice on my Jetstar 1............
Dan. let me know if you "tire" of them.......

Don't suppose you have any images you could post???

I need your opinion please guys, do you think these would look any good with white banded rubber on a slammed Delta 88?

i'm desperately trying to find the source and perhaps a photographic image of a car with these wheels. Do you know of any old Appliance literature?

Here's a 1966, a '67 and a '68 with the SS1 wheels...

Here's an SSI 14 x 6 810. (Hub and spokes are the same as a 795 C)
It clearly shows the difference from Dan's wheels.

oh hell yes! A pinstripe 3/8" whitewall or up to a 1-1/2" stripe will look about as 60s cool as you can get!

I'll have to dig for that brochure picture. I don't have a working scanner, so I'll have to find it and link to it.

Do let me know what brochure that is. I just checked the "regular" full line brochure, and it is not there.
