Screws Bolts and Nuts!!

After dismantling a few 68-72 Cutlasses i cant believe how many different sizes, shapes and finishes of screws and bolts these cars have. Has anyone ever docmented the various types and sizes of all of these fasteners? In my humble opinion at least 50% of these could be eliminated.

You missed your vocation!

You should be a bean counter at GM.

I'd bet the fasteners are as cheap as they could be made to do their jobs. ! cent saved on 20 fasteners per unit on a 100,000 production run is $20,000.

Roger.

If you compare cars of today vs our older ones, I believe they have accomplished that.

I believe it was for an escaped mental patient who takes a laundromat worker for a roll in the hay on the way out, with the headline of:

Nut Screws Washer and Bolts.

Probably baloney, as our colleague has stated.
