And a broken lower ball joint boot can easily lead to a front end restoration. Rule of thumb - photo and catalog every bolt so you know where it might not go.... Pictures are worth their weight in gold.
Are you taking pictures of the repair on the car while it's in the body shop? Always good to see what's going on behind the scene. When I read your comment that you didn't want any of the trim removed for painting I was a little surprised. Typically that's the best way to get the job done and not have tape lines or paint that fails and flakes from around the taped off surfaces. My 2¢ but I think you should re-consider that idea.

I have to agree with Allan, I had the body shop send us progress pictures when I had my 76 painted years ago. Went from brown to blue complete. The only trim that they didn't take off were the door window sweeps. Wouldn't ya know it, the paint started peeling away from them about 6 years later!
Behind and under the mirrors weren' t painted very well either.
