...and I thought you all would appreciate it😀

"A 20 minute repair is just one broken bolt away from becoming a 3 day ordeal."

So true!😀

And a broken lower ball joint boot can easily lead to a front end restoration. Rule of thumb - photo and catalog every bolt so you know where it might not go.... Pictures are worth their weight in gold.

Are you taking pictures of the repair on the car while it's in the body shop? Always good to see what's going on behind the scene. When I read your comment that you didn't want any of the trim removed for painting I was a little surprised. Typically that's the best way to get the job done and not have tape lines or paint that fails and flakes from around the taped off surfaces. My 2¢ but I think you should re-consider that idea.

I appreciate the input Allan, but if you re-read my post, my request was as "little trim removed as possible". And as far as taking pics of the progress, I would love to do that, but it's not an option when I work till 6 and the body shop closes at 5:30. They're not open on weekends, so I just have to trust and believe that it will be done right.

Maybe they could take pics for you and send them so it's all documented?

I have to agree with Allan, I had the body shop send us progress pictures when I had my 76 painted years ago. Went from brown to blue complete. The only trim that they didn't take off were the door window sweeps. Wouldn't ya know it, the paint started peeling away from them about 6 years later!
Behind and under the mirrors weren' t painted very well either.
