Sacramento Classic Car & Parts Swap Meet

Anyone going to the Sacramento Classic Car & Parts Swap Meet at the Arco Arena on August 5th? Gates open at 6am for buyers. $6.00 admission. Free parking. For more information visit www.sacramentoswapmeet.com.

Just thought that I would throw it out there if anyone is interested in attending. I have never been but I have heard that it is huge!

Cheers!

This is the old Reno Hot Auguat Nights show that moved to Sacramento a few years ago and it is huge and hot. Most anything car related can be found there.....Tedd

I have been before buyer and seller. If you are selling really helps to pre register, other wise it took me about 3 hours to get in Sat, they take all pre registered first. I'm going Sunday. Great place for swap meet, they have the room. I 't is going to be hot.

Not too much Olds, but worth the trip.

As far as Olds parts goes, it was slim pickens! Another CO member (66 442 Jim who I ran into by accident when we were both looking over a 66 442...The 442 hat he was wearing gave it away immediately...) He found a 67 Cutlass hood for $50 and some odds and ends, but no body panels. I did see a "Mondello prepared" '67 400 block with dual 4's and later some Edelbrock intakes and valve covers for a fair price.

There were a few Oldsmobile's for sale. A '66 442 basket-case (where I ran into Jim) for $2800 (We agreed that it was only worth about $1800) and very nicely restored 65 Cutlass for $16K, and a '70 "Hurst Olds" which was poorly executed (not to mention that there were no H/O's in '70) for $11K. Nice paint, good looking at 10' but way too many badges, just wrong. Also snapped a picture of a '64 Jetstar that was a real beauty.

TONS of Chevy parts of course, a lot of Ford parts, not too much MOPAR and very slim on BOP. If I had gone with a real agenda I would have been disappointed, but I know that this was the largest car swap meet that I have been to. It was worth the trip regardless.

The 66 442 that Chris and I saw is also from a CO member. He has posted the car here on CO for sale:

https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...day-coupe.html

I knew that the engine was not correct but I couldn't figure out which engine it was. The car looks pretty good in his pictures but there is a hole in the left rear pillar and since I wasn't able to get a good look underneath or in the trunk or under the carpet, I'm not sure how much rust is in the car. But the fenders, doors, hood, trunk lid, and quarters are in very good shape. Front bumper has a slight amount of damage, but nothing that can't be fixed. I also checked the cowl tag and it definately is a 5V from Lansing.

Just thought that I would share if ayone was interested.
