RIP Loyed Woodland

Just heard of this, he was the driver of the historic 1966 W30 Brainbeau Oldsmobile. A national win by him put Oldsmobile back in the lime-light and record books!

Nice guy. I met him briefly at the 1968 NHRA Spring Nationals in Dallas Texas. He drove for Berejik Olds in 1968 and Smothers Brothers Racing team in 1969. I lost track of him after that.

Sorry to hear that, "Woody" was a member of the GMO club out of MA. When we were at the OCA Nats in Gettysburg, we met a man from PA (maybe NJ) who had an Olds collection. He told us he had recently purchased Woody's old 1966 Brainbeau W.
