Rebuilt carb..choking out help!

I recently rebuilt my 2 barrel rochester carb..
First the good news:
I notice no hesitation, better fuel milage and great acceleration.
The bad news: The choke plate is getting stuck and the engine revs. When I put it in gear to drive you can hear the engine getting drowned in fuel.
I have to remove carb cover and manually release the plate. It happens @ every 4 or 5 trips..what have I done wrong

Check to see if the choke plate is binding on the sides of the air horn. If it is, this is caused by the air cleaner wing nut being tightened too tight over time which distorts the air horn. To correct this, you must file a little off of the edges of the choke plate so that it moves freely in the air horn.

I know it is important to keep the carb dry and clean...what's your thought about a dab of lubricant on the sides of the choke plate after I give the plates a light sanding.
I have loosened the wing nut..I did have a practice of tightening the wing nut very tight.

The lubricant will attract anything that will stick to it and cause more sticking, clean and dry is best. Also make sure you have a gasket between the air cleaner and air horn, that way you wont have to tighten the air cleaner wing nut so tight to hold the air cleaner.
