Real name of piece on a convertible top

I'm trying to find out the actual name for part of my convertible top. It's that bead of fabric, on the outside, above the rear window that runs from one side of the car to the other.

The staples on mine are starting to let go and I want to replace it, but I have no idea what it's called. The top is still fine. It's just this one piece. Any upholstery guys/gals out there with some ideas?

I think its called a roof molding. It covers the joint where the front and rear portions of the top are joined together.

It's known as the wire-on. They are on ebay. Google convertible top wire-on.

Will defer to others, but I've always referred to it as "welting".

I couldn't find stainless staples when I put my top on so I used Monel staples instead.
