re-man power steering pump pulling steering wheel/

New (re-man) power steering pump. I am getting a dead spot /hard point where the pump makes a slight hiss noise and the steering wheel then will rotate on its own. (vehicle is not moving) (Old pump did not not do this). Also with slight turned wheel just as you take off/increase rpm steering will jerk in direction of the turn. My guess is bad pump/bad flow control valve? I think I had similar issue many years ago with original pump and re-built it, issue went away.

Did you make sure all the air is out of the system by turning the wheels lock to lock a few times with the engine running?

Yes many times. Will give a few hours/overnight rest and check it.

I've picked up the practice of replacing the pressure valve in the new pump with the old valve. I got burned on my Silverado once, and it didn't have brakes (hydroboost). From then on, I don't trust the remans with proper pressure valves. Hopefully, you still have your old pump.

Returned it, installed another unit, no issues.
