Great museum.
I often wonder about the display engines. That mid 60s bronze big block in particular…. Is that one of the original engines they took promo photos of?
There’s very few factory markings on it if any. Was it a real engine cut up for display? or a fiberglass mold?

I was there in 1987, I don't remember any of this. Guess I need to go back.

Turning real engines into cutaways is a highly specialized skill set and there are vendors who do only that. Knowing where to cut to highlight the interior pieces requires intimate knowledge of how the internals fit together. I'm always impressed when they are done well. And yeah, it's a real engine that was cut up.

I think I'm the only guy that looks at the end effectors and chunks of power and free chain holding some of the blocks up.

Always a treat to see what’s new. A great display of history and fantastic/diligent staff.
