You slip them over the jack post, then you can slip the jack handle in to keep it in place and keep it from rattling.

That's it!! Bloody Gremlins!
So aside the invasion, I did not want to congratulate him for the purchase of sleeves even if it's from a NOS.
I'm happy for him, not more
The story is ... well not much to say about the story...

Regarding the the lug wrench retention sleeves, NOS should be struck from the description. I don't believe GM sold the short sleeves as a service part, just the longer one. Those are probably fine reproductions.

I hope this seller is no one here. Every item he lists is claimed to be NOS but in fact is not. Photos never show a part number on the package, but no matter it's never included.

I'm with "briane" on this one....the seller has lots of ebay listings but always says something like "no GM packaging or box included", "bought in bulk so no box" and then they show a GM box "for effect". I think they are selling repro parts as NOS. Have looked at their ads for a couple years now and it's always the same thing....and always parts that can be bought in reproduction form.

That's a very wide and slightly misleading part description. Any cars with SS wheels, at least for 1969-1972 (?), would have the lug wrench secured in the clips mounted to the rear vertical trunk wall.

It's just a piece of inner tube that snugs the wrench to the mast for cars like that. My Chevy is that way, and that is not original rubber up there in that picture.

Yes, my convertible has the lugs to hold the lug wrench. Never heard of sleeve(s) for it?

You got the rubber sleeve (or sleeves) when you didn't have SSI or SSII wheels on the car originally....no clips to hold the tire tool either on these "steelie wheel" cars. Thus the tire tool and rubber.

That’s why I said the ad was a bit misleading as it appeared to say these items were for all vehicles and not only the the ones with plain steel (non-SS) wheels.
