Questions

Going to town for some shopping tomorrow.
My car and manuals are in my workshop,and the road are not plowed yet.

Does anybody know the sizes on the fuel hoses ,fed and return,on a -68 442.
I am going to connect it to an external fuel tank.
How many quarts ATF does a TH 400 take?
Can I use ATF as powersteering fluid?

Well I know little about those new fangled 1968 model cars so I will let the more knowledgeable chime in but I have used ATF in my power steering for years (probably 40 years) with no problems at all....Tedd

===============
3/8 inlet hose [ID]
That's all you really need. Cap the fuel pump 5/16 tube with 5/16 hose if need be. No need to return fuel to your handi-tank.

around 14 I think, depends on how drained it was- new converter or just a filter kit, etc.

Can I use ATF as powersteering fluid?
=================
Certainly. More or less the same pump and use of pressurized oil.

Thanks.
Dug myself into the workshop this morning.
The SM says 10qts.in the transmission.
Is there a good proceedure for filling it with oil? It is empty except from a little
in the convertor.

Add 7 qts, start it and check in park, add more as needed until full. Then shift into drive and then reverse, check and add as needed. Take it for a ride, check again.
