Question about Interchange between 1954 and 1955 Tredle Vac
Hi All
A member here is interested in a power brake conversion for his 1954 Olds. I had the complete setup for sale but ended up selling the treadle vac, solenoid, and vacuum can from it. Now I'm pulling parts from a 1955 to see if I can put together a complete setup for him. The one I pulled from the 1954 had an aluminum master cylinder and the brand on it was Bendix. The one I just pulled from the 1955 has a cast iron master cylinder without a brand name, but it has what looks like a GM part number on it. I believe its 5455938 although the casting is a little rough, the 938 could be something else. Attached are photos of each. Before I offer this to him I want to be sure its correct for his car. It looks to me like they will interchange but there's a lot about this vintage I don't know! Can anyone here help with this?
